The Firestone Winterforce 2 is a touring winter tire manufactured for passenger vehicles.
The tire promotes excellent winter weather traction. The special cold weather tire compound and the symmetric tread design enhance the snow and ice traction. The compound's exceptional flexibility in colder temperatures, which allows it to maintain its road gripping ability when driving on ice and snow. The open shoulder tread design and the wide tread grooves and the special siping detail boosts the hydroplaning resistance by dispersing water and slush from below the tire's footprint. Furthermore, the tire is studdable for enhanced ice traction with #11 studs to ensure first-rate winter weather road grip.
The tread design's center rib enhances the model's controllability. It upgrades the steering responsiveness and the driving stability greatly. The tire is stabilized against the driving pressure affecting it, while its steering becomes faster and more precise in its response to the driver's commands. The center rib's road contact also provides excellent braking ability as it creates friction at the moment of braking for a safer drive. The tread's shoulder tread blocks enhance the cornering and maneuvering capability by increasing the number of biting edges that firmly grip the road surface in winter weather.
The model's internal structure features reinforced twin steel belts and a polyester cord casing. The twin steel belts improve the tire's driving durability. They optimize the tire's shape and prevent deformation under the driving pressure affecting the tires while they are in motion. The polyester cord casing allows the tire to closely follow the road surface. This decreases the shock of driving and of the road contact, lowering the road vibrations felt in the vehicle's cabin. As a result, the tire becomes more durable and comfortable.
The Winterforce 2 provides a longer lasting tread life. The tread pattern's full depth tread elements and features upgrade the tread life and tire usability. The tread design also manages to evenly distribute the driving pressure along the tread area, preventing irregular wear formations across the tread surface. The lengthened tread life and tire usability make the tire more cost efficient.
Manufacturers recommend changing tires every 10 years. As long as tires are properly stored before they are sold, the year of their manufacture will not shorten their service life.
